About
This website is for informational purposes only, nothing is for sale.
Video Game Junk is a community-driven archive of officially licensed video game related merchandise. If you notice a product is missing, you are encouraged to submit it and you will receive full credit. The website was built with collectors in mind as a sort of historical preservation project, to celebrate both gaming and the manufacturers that help bring these fictional worlds to life. These are mementos of the games we love, tokens of inspiration, or sometimes just a good laugh.
The idea for the archive started in December of 2016 as a way to group collectible items together into a quick reference, eliminating the need to dig through various wikis and forums just to see what all is available out there for a specific franchise. After roughly 6 months of planning & development it was officially launched on June 1st, 2017, and has been steadily growing ever since. The website was originally called VGC2 (Video Game Collectible Catalog), then re-branded to Video Game Junkie on September 22nd, 2020, and changed again to simply Video Game "Junk" on July 3rd, 2021, considering that is what most people think of this hobby...
