City-building real-time simulation game Anno 1800 was released in 2019, developed by Ubisoft Blue Byte and published by Ubisoft. Players took control at the dawn of the industrial age, and let them chart their own political path and build an empire through trials of the 19th century. Ubisoft asked us to create a custom PC for Anno 1800 to help promote the game and encourage purchases, and that could be used as a competition prize for one lucky winner.

There is so much industrial excellence within Anno 1800 to draw inspiration from, but we finally settled on the in-game ‘World’s Fair’ monument – one of the most attractive buildings in the game (in terms of both design and monument benefits to an island!).

We brought the World’s Fair from Anno 1800 to the real world with an intricate, bespoke PC design that showed off the game’s beautiful monument design – based on The Crystal Palace in London – in a whole new light. Our artists even included the smallest design details such as tiny windows and individual brickwork, making it one of our most complex custom projects to date.
